Happy Valentine's and Spectrum Noir Challenge

Good Morning,
and A Very Happy Valentine's to you!
I expect you'll all have had the postie at the door with loads of pressies and cards??

My very sweet hubby got me and our 3 yr old a matching teddy (and i got yummy Maltesers).

So I can now share some of the Valentine's Card's I made for my customer's.

This is an exploding box for a fb customer, she left me free to make whatever I liked but wanted a special exploding box card to celebrate their first Valentine's as Mr & Mrs, so sweet.

I've used red and black card from Paper Mill Direct, my ultimate pro from Crafter's Companion, heart dies from X Cut and some peel off's and Valentine stickers from my stash.

Next up we have

a special card for some friends at work.
The cloud background was done using my new embossing folder and the beautiful bears were coloured using my fab new Spectrum Noir's both of these are from Crafters Companion
and I'd like to enter this card into the Spectrum Noir Challenge
I tried following one of the tutorial's on the main page to colour my bears, I think I need more practice.

And finally here are a number of cards I made for some customers

with the one in the centre for my hubby.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you all have a wonderful day

CHNC challenge 107: Rudolph is resting

Good evening,
I've started on my Christmas cards for this year so I can be really
organised by the time it comes around again.

I was inspired by Hazel at CHNC blog where this week the challenge is Rudolph is resting.

**edited to add another Challenge from Hazel - Challenge Extra for January -
Thanks for letting me know H x **

Here's my card
I think this is one of the freebie images from Meljen,
I've coloured it using my lovely new Spectrum Noirs, used some card and holly paper from my scrap stash, added a gold coloured snowflake and a rose hand made by me.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a lovely evening

First Challenge at Inky Chicks

Hello again,

no posts for ages then two in the one day :-)

Inky Chicks is a new challenge blog and it's first challenge is open now so here is my entry

The flowers and papers are from Craftwork Cards,
the card base is made using hammered white card stock from the papermill direct. The image is from Saturated Canary and coloured with Spectrum Noirs - I used BT8 and IB3 for her dress, BT3 and IB3 for her shoes and stockings, FS4 AND FS8 for her skin and i think GB7 and OR2 and OR3 for her hair.

Hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend

Spectrum Noir Challenge

Hello, just a quick post to share a birthday card I made for my friend at work and enter my first challenge at Spectrum Noir. I usually use Promarkers for my colouring but was seeing more and more about the Spectrum Noir pens around the web and after a bit of research decided to give them a go. One of the most appealing things about them for me is you can buy refill inks. There are a number of promarkers that I use much more than any other and would love to be able to refill them.

Anyhow I used some of my Christmas money and bought two sets of the 24 packs, brights and pastels and I love them, the fine nib is really good for small detail and the colours are beautiful. The darker colours are quite intense so I find laying down the lighter colours first helps, then you only need a little of the darker colours and it's easier to lay down.
Ok enough rambling on,

here's my card

and a close up of the Doctor :-)

I've used a fantastic Dr who image from Mayzy Art

The colours I used are BT8, IB3, IB1, GT11, IG3 and DR2 for his tie and shoes

Happy New Year!

Good Morning and a very Happy New Year!

I kinda failed on posting more at the end of last year so I'm going to aim for at least one post per week and try to enter some challenges this year as well.

Part of my Christmas was some cash, so I ordered a couple of packs of Spectrum Noirs and I can't wait for them to be delivered so I can get stuck in with learning more about colouring. I bought one of the colouring tutorials from Make it Crafty but not had a chance to use it yet.

I have a few photo's to share of some calendar easels I've made

This is a thank you card for my friends parents

and these two were for some girl's at work

I have loads of Christmas cards to share so I'll try to pop back later.
Have a great day

Christmas Card

Well so much for posting more often.... I've been rather busy with making Christmas cards for orders, so much so that I've not even made all the cards for our family and friends.
Well I'm off work till the 26th now so I can get stuck in.

Here's one of the card's I've made for a customer

I got this set of stamps free with the Do Craft's Magazine, coloured it with Promarkers. The white linen card base and red card are both from the Papermill. The Christmas paper is from my stash and I've finished the card with a paper ribbon and pearl buckle and a sentiment from Craftwork cards.

thanks for stopping by

Birthday cards & Team Jacob

Friday and Saturday's posts appear to be missing... so here they are now..

Friday's card

the cake image is from MelJen (where she's having a 20% off sale at the moment) and the girl is from Layered Lillie from Little Musings which is a fab group of images you can build up yourself! These have been coloured with Promarkers. The lime card is from DCWV Rockstar stack and the blue card is from Papermill

and onto Saturday's card, this one is for a friends birthday and just like myself is a Twilight fan,
however as I'm team Edward she's Team Jacob....

For this card I created my own backing paper using kraft wrapping paper inked up with some stamps a rather interesting photo I found online, sentiment printed from word and finished with a rather cute work image from Pixie Dust Studio coloured with my promarkers and topped with some glossy accent to give him a shiny nose and eyes. She loved it...:-)

Granny's Birthday & Fotoflexer

Good afternoon!

So I decided as I haven't posted much this year that I'd give my blog a new look and try to post more....

In the process of creating my lovely new headers I came across some online software that allows you to alter photo's or pictures its called FotoFlexer you can add text change the look or size of pictures, and it's really easy to use. Give it a try.

so here's today's card

It was a birthday card for my mum from my daughter. I used an image from Saturated Canary, coloured with promarkers. I've used scrap paper upcycled from last years calendar and printed the sentiment using word.

Chocolate Wraps and Big Huge Labs

Afternoon,

In case you weren't aware I have a page on Facebook to show off my cards and projects for sale and I've been looking around the net today for hints on how to add more than one photo to a picture so I can share a bunch of pictures at the one time without harassing too many people.

I came across bighugelabs which not only allows you to upload photo's and create mosaic but loads of other fun things to, go check it out, you can log in with your Facebook id if you like and it's free. (I believe there's a paid for option also available but the freebie has loads to do).

Here's the picture I created to post on Facebook

you can change the colour of the border if you like and you can have as many photo's as you like.
These are some chocolate wraps I've made for Thank you gifts for teachers. The chocolate is handmade by a work mate and is sooo scrummy.

Here's another picture I've made today from some rather old piccies of my daughter

I'm off to play some more with our holiday pic's
have a great weekend folks

Birthday Cards and Hurray I won a prize!

Morning, hope you've had a wonderful weekend?
I've been too busy making cards to post them again, really need to get back in the habit of posting weekly if not daily.
Finger's crossed we're off on holiday next week so perhaps after that I shall try my best to post more.

I have a few picture's to share with you today all for workmate's or friends of-

This one was for a workmate's birthday
the image of the dressing table is from someone i met on CDAC - Pattie G, she has a shop here with some gorgeous images - pattiescreations
the image was coloured with promarkers and cut out, I made a mess of the mirror that comes with the vanity so cut an oval from mirri card and layered it onto some striped DP.

This for a workmate's friend
the moped was coloured with promarkers and the lights have glossy accents to make them shiny,
I cut the image out and layered it onto some card from my scrap stash.

This is for one of the chaps at work who's just a babby at 21, the champagne bottle is from Birds Cards, the arm is from a freebie digi image and the smart boy is a digi image from The Greeting Farm
the arm under the sentiment, moves right around and was an in joke with the lads at work.....

and for another workmates friend
all of these images are in a freebie set from Cuddly Buddly
I added some cloud masks to the card blank and sponged over some blue inks to create the sky
then added the coloured Cuddly Buddly images and finished with some sentiments, a cut out fence and some peel off flowers.

Thanks very much for stopping by, hope you all have a wonderful day
I've just found out I've won an image and a background from a fantastic film hop from last weekend from MiC and Simply Betty, I'm so chuffed :-)

Next up is a Wedding Congratulations card for my hubby's workmate to give to her friends
she wanted something a wee bit different

and here's card for another workmates brother

and finally we have this year's birthday party invitations for my daughter's 3rd birthday
we're having a bugs and butterflies party
I made the spider and ladybird from die cut circles, and then added some die cut bee's and butterflies and finished off with some hand drawn ants.

So I'm off to get ready for a wee night out with some girlfriends, have to make a wee card first though ;-)
enjoy the rest of your weekend folks
